One of the biggest challenges facing every entrepreneur is explaining an innovative and complex
idea when he has only one minute at his disposal.
The good news is that there is no correlation between the complexity of the idea and the
amount of time needed to present it. If we haven’t succeeded in presenting the project clearly
and simply in one minute, we can assume that even eight minutes won’t be enough.
4 Components for Presenting a Project in One Minute
Impressive opening – for example, a surprising statistical fact about the market share, extent of
income, size of the problem.
Basic identity – features of the product in terms of: the type of market, value (benefit), innovation.
Achievements – what have we already done to advance the idea.
Call to action – what is the next step that the audience is requested to take part in.

Effective Small Talk – The Hat Theory
A technique that, from the first moment of our interaction with other people, will position us in a way that can help us progress and increase our future connection with whoever is standing opposite to us (What is a hat? Any item that identifies us and characterizes us.)
2 Elements of the Hat Theory:
Uniqueness – What do I have to say in order for me, of all people, to be remembered when the other person\audience leaves the room?
Common denominator – With whom do people tend to interact? People prefer to be, to work, to live, to employ, to advance people who are similar to them.
When I don’t know the person opposite to me, I’ll talk about general topics: traffic jams, parking, weather, how difficult it is to get up in the morning – the very basics. When I know in advance with whom I’m meeting – what should I do? Prepare a list of my hats and a list of the hats of the person I’m meeting, while identifying our common denominator.
